The donut or Benelli breast lift procedure is a unique surgical procedure that is designed to give breasts a more youthful and lifted appearance. The process involves minor shaping and requires only minimal incision lines. The procedure is for women who need a moderate amount of surgical correction. The donut breast lift procedure involves a surgical incision in a ring around the breast’s areola, allowing for maximum flexibility and for the breast to adapt while maintaining as small an incision as possible.

Donut / Benelli Breast Lift Surgical Technique
The donut / Benelli breast lift is often requested by patients who understand the results of the procedure and are satisfied with the minimally-invasive incision around the areola. When considering limited access and flexibility of the procedure, this is an option for only some patients. Dr. Pousti will review options at the time of initial consultation.
What To Expect After Surgery
Pain is rarely strong, more commonly being a degree of discomfort. Swelling occurs but usually begins to subside by the third or fourth day. Some degree of swelling may persist for longer periods. A well-fitted bra is worn day and night for three weeks. While there is probably seldom interference with future breast feeding, women are cautioned that it may not be possible to breast feed in the future.

Dear Dr. Pousti & Staff
“I am 5’3″ asian female with breast size of 32 DDD. Since high school, I’ve always had neck pains and shoulder pains. I used to believe that I had so much hair that it was the weight of my hair weighing down causing these pains. I would often cut my hair below my ears to reduce the weight. I’ve been to chiropractor, but the relief was only temporarily. It is very abnormal for a small asian girl to have a DDD breast. My posture is very bad and I was getting grooves on my shoulder. I’ve never even tied together the two pieces, I had never thought these were pains from having big breasts. I have reached into my 30’s and lost about 20lbs. I stopped weighing myself because my weight is going up and inches are dropping. Losing so much weight, I’ve started loosing my breast as well. Gravity did its job pulling it down. After my brother’s gf got a breast augmentation, I started looking into reducing my breast and lifting it. I first went to a consultation in LA, but I just didn’t feel comfortable. After talking to my brothers gf, I’ve decided to book a consultation for breast reduction with Dr. Pousti. As soon as I walked in, staff were soooooo nice. They were very friendly. I work in medical offices and I wished my staff can be as friendly and approachable as staffs here. During the consultation, I wasn’t sure until I got to see post-op patients for the same procedure. I’ve looked through a lot of pictures, but I became very confident in Dr. Pousti seeing 5-week post opt patient. During the consultation, I was able to see and talk to 4 patients who has gone through both breast reduction and breast augmentation. I scheduled the surgery right away. I went in yesterday for markings. I have surgery tomorrow morning. So far, my experience has been awesome and very confident that Dr. Pousti will give me nice small and perky breast that will fit perfectly with my body.”
I am a 39 year old African American woman and mother of four. I am 5ft 1 and I weigh 116lbs. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to have breast augmentation. I knew I wanted to wait until after I had my children to do it and now the time has come. I began doing serious research in November and had scheduled appointments with several different doctors. All of the ones I visited seemed nice but there was still just something that wasn’t sitting well with me when I met them. I came across Dr Pousti’s website and I was feeling really hopeful. All of the reviews that I read on his site were wonderful. But I still needed to see for myself. When I came in for my consultation the staff made me feel completely at ease. I need to give a big shout out to Daisy. She is awesome. When I met with Dr Pousti I had a lot of questions. I think he liked that. He answered all of my questions and assured me that he would take good care of me. He even let me know that if I decided not to go with him the things that I should look for in a qualified surgeon. They took pictures of me for my records and did this really cool Vectra 3-d imaging that showed me approximately what my results would look like. They let me meet a couple of other patients that had already had there surgery. The patients were so nice too.
I know that this might seem weird but it wasn’t so bad. The other patients let you look at there results and you can even touch them to see what it feels like if they are ok with it of course. I felt like that was really helpful. I have to say that all of the reviews that i read before I went there almost seemed to good to be true. But they are all true. I left that appointment knowing that Dr Pousti was going to be my doctor. It was a pretty emotional experience for me because I knew that I was going to finally have my surgery after years of dreaming about this and that I was in extremely capable hands. I had my BA done on April 7th 2014. I was a little nervous about the surgery a couple of days before and really had to keep myself busy so that I wouldn’t freak out. But on the day of surgery I was ready to go. We had discussed approximately what size I wanted to be at my pre-op appointment ( I wanted to be a full C cup), but we did not stress of the cc’s. Oh side note, make a poster board of what you like and what you don’t like. I looked at lots of pictures of boobs. I had about 10 different pics of likes and dislikes. Dr Pousti will take that poster into surgery and reference what you want and don’t want. He will make notes on it before you go in. I found a trifold poster board a the the dollar store in case you were wondering. Anyway, he let me know that he has every size implant ever made so he will put in sizes first and then put in the correct cc for the look I was going for. I ended up with Sientra High profile 405cc’s and the look amazing. Dr Pousti does his surgeries at a surgery center and the staff there was amazing. They kept me relaxing and comfortable throughout the process. I usually get really sick after anesthesia but the anesthesiologist was right there after my surgery was over to give me the medication that I needed to keep that from happening. I think that I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so I am going to say that my recovery was fairly easy. Day one I slept quite a bit. I can’t stress how important it is to stay on top of your pain medication and no lifting of any kind. Daisy from Dr Pousti’s office called me everyday for the first week and about every other day for the next week and a half to make sure that I was doing okay. She is the bomb! After a week I was back to driving but I was also off pain medication. Back to work after 2 weeks. I have steri-strips over my incision site and Dr Pousti advised me to keep them on for a full six week. Being African American and also having keloid this is the best thing to make sure that my scars heal well. They will be coming off on Monday. Yesssss! Well so far this is my journey. I couldn’t be happier with my results. I feel confident and feminine and sexy. This was a huge and scary decision to have this surgery, but it was the best decision I could have made.”
